The holy and huge temple complex which was supposed to have been built over a thousand years ago mostly with black granite and the wooden chariot are not only in a bad and dilapidated condition but also the temple has leaky roof due to highly developed cracks. For a long period, no attention seemed to have been paid to maintain the temple. Hence, some of the devotees who are moved by the poor state of affairs formed a building committee Sri Kaleeshwarar Temple Renovation Committee . (S . K . T . R . C )
